Spring Break

Last week was Spring Break for us. And, for the first time in two years, we took a vacation! A college friend asked us to accompany her and her two kids on a trip to Florida. We spent a day and a half visiting some of my friend's extended family, playing at the beach, and celebrating Easter. We all had a good time making new friends, digging in the sand, and hunting for eggs.

On Easter morning we ate these Breakfast Press Sandwiches that were oh so delicious! They are Cousin Dee Dee's specialty and she kindly showed me how to create this breakfast masterpiece. Later this week I will tell you more about it.

Our second destination was Legoland Florida! We spent three full days ridding rides, attending shows, and splashing in the waterpark. A delight for elementary school and preteen kids.

Finally, when I saw this Baker, made completely out of Legos, I knew that my You Can Make That readers would enjoy seeing it!

What did you do during Spring Break?

  1. Allison, I have been following your blog for some time now, read the tragic accident about your husband. At that time, I was so stunned, I could not write anything, but I grieved for you & your children. I prayed the Lord would bless you to get over this horrible time in your life. And I think you have done well in spite of it all. You ARE moving on & that's what you need to do, I know it is hard. My father was killed when I was 8 y/o. It's nice your children knew him. Have them write down the things they remember about him & times they had with him, after awhile it becomes hard & things become blurry to remember. They will appreciate this MEMORY PAGE they wrote when they are much older. (I know.) Glad that you had such a wonderful vacation. Keep your chin up & enjoy that lovely home you & your husband bought together. (Lela from Boise, ID.)

    1. Thank you for your thoughtful note. I appreciate the encouragement. We have certainly had some dark days, however God has been so good to us and we are beginning to be joyful again. Thank you for your prayers, God bless!

  3. We had fun together at home and around here. Saving up for our big trips later this year. Looks like you had LOTS of fun! Glad it was a good spring break for you and the kiddos. Your hair looks adorable, by the way. Cute cut!
